Stanly Lane Duo
Two easy drinking wines from the historical Stanly Ranch vineyard located at the southern tip of Napa in the Carneros region. The 2014 Chardonnay opens in the glass with a beautiful hint of bright fresh squeezed lemon. The lemon translates into sweeter notes of rich lemon bars and lemon custard. The baking spices from the bit of Russian oak in this wine peeks through, particularly with notes of cinnamon graham cracker. The mouthfeel of the Chardonnay is nothing short of luscious. The beautiful viscosity coats the tongue and inside of your cheeks with awesome flavors of salted caramel and butterscotch from the American oak. Hints of lemon merengue round out the long finish, which ends incredibly balanced and clean. The nose on the 2013 is bright and intense featuring the classic Trinitas Pinot rhubarb pie, with intense rhubarb and beautiful notes of cinnamon, all spice, cloves, and apple pie spice. The palate is rich, with an assortment of red, black, and bing cherry flavors. The baking spices transfer beautifully to the palate and accent the broad mouthfeel and body of this wine. This is no light and super delicate Pinot, this is one with incredible color, depth, and structure that you have come to expect from Trinitas. The French oak delicately makes itself known through some of the spice notes and the slight hint of cola. The nice body on this wine makes it incredibly versatile to be enjoyed with some nice cheese or a heartier dish like pork chop…and of course goes amazing with Salmon.
