The 2011 Rose’ary is a favorite party starter wine as it exudes lightness and awaken the palate with a refreshing fruit. Enjoy seasonally soft aromas of strawberry, watermelon, and white flowers. Hints of vanilla and cotton candy play with pomegranate jelly upon the tongue while leaving a soft finish of honey on the end.
This unique rose was made as a blend to spotlight subtleties of each varietal. With 40% Zinfandel, 40% Carignane, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Merlot, this wine showcases excellent balance. The tank fermented portion is fermented at very low temperature. A cool slow fermentation allows a larger amount of fruity esters to stay in the wine. While a minimal amount of barrel aging was encouraged, it gave just enough spice as well as structure to help lengthen the finish by adding tannin.
The 2011 Vintage was challenging for vintners with rains coming at inconvenient times and a growing season that yielded one of the smallest crops in years. The grapes that did make it in 2011 are good but there is not much out there, so buy up the 2011 wines because they will go quick!
