The 2013 Family Collection Chardonnay begins with aromatics of vanilla, toast, honeycomb, dulce de leche and cinnamon. The wine, as always, is viscous and mouth filling, the bright, luscious fore palate opens up with tropical notes of lychee and grilled pineapple before the beautiful oak notes of butterscotch, caramel, and vanilla round out this wine’s lengthy finish.
Aromatics of lime, vanilla, Meyer lemon, and wet stone jump out of the glass and give the bouquet great character and depth. The nose finishes with a sweet note of honey which rounds out the fruit. The Russian oak builds a solid core that is full and round.
The Semillon hits the nose with minerality right off the bat while the Sauvignon Blanc brings brightness and a touch of fruit aroma. The palate opens with beautiful kiwi and grapefruit then moves into the vanilla and spice notes from the barrel. The wine rounds out with a creamy mouth feel and slight touch of lemon pudding leading into the long, brilliant finish.
The nose is chiseled and laser precise with lemon curd, stone fruit, and Swiss meringue. The palate is silky and opulent, with lemon and pineapple upfront that melts into Crème Anglaise, butterscotch, and sweet French butter.
The bouquet is delicate yet rich displaying delicious toasted marshmallows, vanilla bean, and the classic Trinitas signature Butterscotch. The mouthfeel on the Chardonnay is full and broad. The creamy texture coats your mouth and leads to a lengthy finish.
