Trinitas Cellars Blog
Welcome to the Trinitas Cellars Blog! We hope you join us for frequent updates on our vineyards, production, tasting room and wine education.
Our Wine Club Manager, Lucy, loves her fiancé Daniel, her puppy Diego and our Trinitas 2011 Carneros Chardonnay. Between the butterscotch and caramel apple notes Lucy can’t resist pouring herself a glass of this Chardonnay. For those that are craving the taste of crème brûlée and have an addiction to caramelized sugar this 2011 Carneros Chardonnay is just for you!

I am especially excited to announce the release of our new 2011 Father Mathew Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a very special wine for a variety of reasons. This wine is the first single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon that Trinitas Cellars has produced. The vineyard is owned by St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yountville, right in the heart of the Napa Valley. The vineyard, Fr. Mathew's Vineyard, was named after an influential pastor at the Church. This is an amazing Cabernet vineyard and produces one of our finest wines in flavor and even more so in spirit. Every year 100% of the money that Trinitas pays for the grapes goes to a local charity of the Church's choice. Choosing to drink a delicious Napa Cabernet like Father Mathew’s Cab is choosing to support this amazing Napa Valley community and we thank you for your help!

Ahhhhhh…Petite Sirah – LOVE it! And what’s not to love? Deep, lush fruit.. big flavors, but without the bite. Nuthin’ “petite” about it – this big boy will more than handle a steak, game meats, and don’t get me started about lamb and Petite Sirah! It is “Trinitas-ty"!
2007 Old Vine Cuvee
This past weekend, we dug deep into the cellar and pulled out a bottle of our 2007 Old Vine Cuvee. This was a special treat and provided a special treat to share with family while sitting around the fireplace sharing stories. What is Old Vine Cuvee? It seems a little strange, since you don't see "Old Vine Cuvee" on our labels anymore, but Old Vine Cuvee is actually the old name for our more well-known "Mysterium" red blend. This library wine has a special place in my heart since I particularly love the Mysterium wines, especially the current 2010 vintage.
2007 was a great year of the Old Vine Cuvee, and the blend was similar to the 2009 Mysterium vintage with 48% Zinfandel, 39% Carignane, 7% Petite Sirah, 5% Alicante Bouschet and 1% Black Malvasia.
I'm hoping that I can dig out a few more bottles of this in the next few months, and at the same time, stash away a few bottles of the 2010 Mysterium to enjoy a couple years from now.
Cheers and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Trinitas Family! Welcome to my first blog post… it’s taken me a while to learn how to type with my paws! My name is June Busch and I am a Goldendoodle from Southern California. My family started Trinitas Cellars and I am their official Trinitas wine dog, woof! What a life it is to be a wine dog, fellow pups you may want to look into it. I am 4 years old in dog years, which makes me 28 years old in human years so don’t worry I’m of age, cheers to that!
Tis the season for Christmas traditions; just last night we took a trip down to the tree lot to pick out my first ever REAL Christmas tree. Now that I know what a real Christmas tree smells like, I just don't think I can go back to those plastic imposters! Mom put colored lights on the tree this year, which I am a huge fan of since they really bring out my shimmering gold colored coat. I especially love this time of year because every night Mom lights up the fireplace and the whole family will snuggle up on the couch with a glass of wine while we watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. By the way, my favorite movie is the one where the dog saves Christmas! This year, our favorite wine to drink while we cuddle up by the fire is the Old Vine Petite Sirah, yum yum. Red wine is the best during the holidays for the following reasons. One, it’s red, which of course is the color of Christmas and the color of Santa Paws’s coat. And two, it warms you up, which makes it like an adult version of hot chocolate!
Trinitas family and friends, I hope you all enjoy this holiday season! Continue the wonderful Christmas traditions of decorating the tree, enjoying the fireplace, watching Christmas movies and of course enjoying a bottle of Trinitas wine! Yum yum!
